Hi, I'm Franzie, If you know me and I sent you here, you don't have to read this.  If you'd like to know what I'm doing and why, this may be for you.

A Lighted Way was created in October of 1981.  I had just become single after 33 years of marriage in which I was supported and cared for.  My mother had died of cancer at an early age   She had put me through college and taken care of all my needs until I got married. I had no brothers or sisters.  My three adopted children were grown and on their own.  I now found myself somewhat bewildered at having total responsibility for me at age 53...I knew how to pray, so I did, and I was shown A Lighted Way.  My biggest need, it seemed was to be needed. 

I went to Social Service and asked to become a foster mother.  Over the years, I've cared for 24 foster children, ages a few months to teenagers.  What an adventure!  When I officially became a senior citizen, The Area Agency on Aging found positions for me with elderly, homebound folks.  What I have learned from these experiences is that as long as my focus is on the well being of others, my needs are met.

In 1987, a friend from my school days, an old flame, the boy next door, had a near fatal heart attack.  Needed again. I put all that I had learned with A Lighted Way to the test.  Mickey recovered.  We spent 16 beautiful years together.

We tied the knot officially in 1994.  Henry Hecht III passed over to the other side October 9th 2003  

I'm needing to be needed again.  I want to share A Lighted Way with those whose lives touch mine.
